Occupational health for the education sector
We only work with schools, colleges and academies to keep your teachers and support staff healthy. We focus on three main areas:

Education and Promotion

Pre-emptive, proactive support designed to prevent teachers and support staff from taking sickness related absences.

Absence Management

Reduces the amount of staff absences by identifying and addressing risk factors before they develop, and offering remedial support to absentees.

Health Surveillance

Monitors the health and wellbeing of your workforce and allows us to intervene with the necessary support if required.

How can we help?
We offer tailored healthcare solutions using a mixture of face-to-face, personal healthcare and digital wellbeing solutions.

The benefits of occupational health
By introducing a staff health and wellbeing policy, you're sending out a positive message to your employees that confirms how much you value their input and care about their welfare.

Giving employees immediate access to healthcare and wellbeing services will prevent many absences, ensure a fast and professional response is offered to any absentees and support your workforce through any professional or personal difficulties they are experiencing. Not only will you be partially fulfilling your duty of care as an employer but you you’ll also be boosting morale amongst your workforce.

Prevention
As an employer, you have a legal and moral responsibility to do whatever is reasonably practicable to prevent work-related ill health.

Attendance management has become a major issue within many schools, colleges and academies. With over 10 years’ experience of managing staff absence in schools, we understand the causes of sickness absence in the sector. We’ve created a bespoke range of services designed to prevent such absences from occurring in the first instance. Our clients have access to proactive benefits such as dedicated helplines, counselling, healthy living support and stress management courses.

Fast response
Every employer will encounter the issue of staff absences. This is because some absences are inevitable and can't be prevented.

There may be a lot of guidance and advice available in the public domain, but the reality of managing absences is much more difficult than the theory. No two cases are the same, yet each require a fast and individually tailored response. When an individual needs support it’s important to address the issue promptly, something which may not be available with nationally funded health organisations. Time is critical. The sooner a problem is addressed the less likely it is to cause an absence, or the sooner the absentee will return to work.

Support
Access to specialist occupational health support is commonly identified as the most effective way to reduce staff absences.

Wellbeing at work isn’t just about medical care, it’s also about pastoral care and support. Issues are rarely resolved immediately and ongoing support and understanding is required to sort things out. Employers rarely have the time or qualifications to do this so it’s best left in the hands of a specialist occupational health and wellbeing provider. Offering specialist support will not only reduce the length of time taken off, but reduce the probability of the absence reoccurring further down the line.
